1. **Create a Fun Environment**: From colorful backdrops to playful props, I make sure to set the stage for a fun-filled adventure.  If we're outside I will bring in a bubble machine and some other surprises to bring out the smiles.  If we're inside, I'll make the set up as colorful and interactive as possible.

2. **Build Trust**: Before jumping right into the shoot, I take a little bit of  time to sit with the children, getting to know their likes, dislikes, and unique personalities. This helps to make them feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera.

3. **Use Props**: Who doesn't love a good prop? Using toys, stuffed animals, or even their favorite blanket adds an extra layer of comfort and familiarity, helping to bring out their natural charm and personality.

4. **Be Playful**: Laughter is the best accessory, and I do my best to keep the mood light and playful throughout the session. From silly games to funny prompts, we're always on the lookout for that infectious giggle or ear-to-ear grin.

5. **Patience**: I respect each child's unique personality and comfort level.  If they need to take a break or a moment or two to warm up, I'm more than happy to wait.  The best photos come from genuine moments of happiness and comfort.
